Vail Resorts needed to evolve beyond a rigid, white-label digital platform to deliver a seamless, modern mobile experience. Guests expected an intuitive and personalized experience, enabling self-service, and tools that matched the realities of a mountain environment: intermittent connectivity, high density usage, and dynamic trip needs.
This presented an opportunity to reimagine Vail’s digital foundation as a flexible, data-driven experience platform, one that empowers guests with personalized guidance, and mirrors the rhythm of life on the mountain.
We redefined the mountain experience by establishing a long term vision, and unifying every digital and physical touchpoint into a single, intelligent ecosystem that drives both guest delight and operational efficiency. With a scalable React Native foundation and My Epic Home as the single entry point, every interaction becomes intuitive, personalized, and connected, from BLE-enabled passes and real-time content to tailored gear, lessons, and experiences.

My Epic Home serves as the unified entry point into the resort’s full digital ecosystem, surfacing the most relevant gear, lessons, offers and services based on real-time guest context. For the business, this means higher engagement, more cross-sell opportunities and increased app-driven revenue. For the guest, it means less friction, more personalization, and a home screen that anticipates their needs.
With hands-free scanning enabled by Bluetooth Low Energy technology, guests can skip ticket windows and head straight to the chair, reducing wait time and operational load. The experience is seamless, pocket-based access, and real-time stats like vertical feet and lift rides, elevating the day from functional to fun.
The My Epic Assistant brings resort intelligence into the guest’s pocket, answering questions, guiding decisions and reducing dependence on line/counter staff. We’re building the foundation for proactive, AI-driven offers, instantaneous guidance on where to rent, where to dine, what lesson to join, ultimately turning a complex mountain trip into an effortless journey.
My Epic Gear transforms gear ownership and rental into a flexible, app-driven membership. Guests receive personalized recommendations, reserve their preferred gear, and get it delivered to their accommodations or slope side, all through an annual subscription service in the app. For the business, this opens a new line of revenue, improves guest LTV, and uses existing infrastructure to improve margins. For the guest, it’s flexibility, convenience and premium gear, tailored to their needs and the mountain, without the burden of ownership.
